Sorry you have to experience this. I would agree, and maybe talk to admissions to see what other options are available. I feel like if you explain your situation, they will try to find other options for you. One of my friends I knew through class went through the same thing and her instructor actually helped her out. You could also reach out to your instructor in the department you will be taking classes.
I was in a similar situation to you. I have had issues with my parents and we are not on that good of terms because of a bunch that happened the past couple of years. Long story short, I tried to submit without them and because I am a dependent, there was really no way around it. All you can really do is try to find other options that are available or become independent.
