Hello, Im also a new student at FCC. I definitely think getting to know your classmates can be a good way to make friends. Just by being in the same class shows you automatically have that in common. I would say start off with small talk. For example compliment something that they're wearing like if they're wearing a sports team hat, ask if they have ever been to a game. Hope I helped a little.
